Studio Assistant (Part-Time)

Location: South London Studio
Hours: 2 days per week (flexible)

Cawley is looking for a Studio Assistant to join our small team in South London. This is a hands-on, studio-based role supporting the day-to-day running of the business across production, e-commerce and studio operations.

Working alongside our founder and studio team, you'll help with everything from preparing online orders to supporting seasonal collections. We're looking for someone who is organised, practical and detail-oriented, with an interest in craftsmanship and clothing.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with smocking (training can be provided).
  • Sew toiles and support the sampling process.
  • Prepare and pack seasonal samples for wholesale appointments and Paris market.
  • Support the wider studio team with day-to-day production and studio tasks as required.
  • Produce and update CAD drawings using Adobe Illustrator (essential).
  • Assist E-commerce co-ordinator with packing and dispatching of online orders with care and attention to detail.
  • Prepare shipping labels and organise outgoing deliveries when required.
  • Help maintain an organised stockroom and studio.
  • Assist with deliveries and stock intake.
  • Work collaboratively across the business wherever support is needed.


We're Looking For Someone Who

  • Has excellent hand sewing skills (essential).
  • Is confident creating garment CADs in Adobe Illustrator (essential).
  • Can sew simple toiles and has a good understanding of garment construction.
  • Is highly organised with strong attention to detail.
  • Enjoys working in a small, collaborative team.
  • Is proactive, adaptable and happy to turn their hand to a wide variety of tasks.
  • Has an interest in craftsmanship, textiles and contemporary clothing.


Desirable

  • Previous experience working within a fashion studio.
  • Experience preparing samples for wholesale or photoshoots.
  • Knowledge of smocking (although training will be provided).

 

This is a flexible, part-time position based in our South London studio for two days per week. It is an ideal opportunity for someone looking to gain experience within a small independent fashion brand, working closely across design, production and studio operations while contributing to every stage of the collection.
