PRODUCTION MANAGER
We are seeking a creative and driven Production Manager to join our team!
Full time (Monday-Friday, 9-5pm)
Location: Deptford, London
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Efficiently managing and coordinating production and sampling across multiple manufacturers.
- Costing garments at sampling stage for wholesale sales.
- Ordering materials (fabric/trims/samples/cutting docs/etc) for production with multiple manufacturers.
- Regularly visit factories during key production stages to ensure quality and adherence to timelines.
- Implement strict quality control measures to uphold high standards throughout production.
- Responsible for all patterns, from sending out patterns/styles to graders, following up when needed and organising sampling for checking to enable production rollout.
- Manage the correction of patterns, coordinating the return of master patterns internally and with external manufacturers.
- Able to promptly address and solve any technical and quality issues arising during production.
- Manage all pre-production samples to go out to factories, as well as communicate and relay notes from fittings to factories/studio. Prepare and send all physical cut tickets. Record production samples movements.
- Closely working with freelance pattern cutters to ensure garments are fit for production and all relevant data is recorded ensuring complete details accuracy. Highlight areas of concern with construction in advance, whilst finding solutions to improve form and fit.
- Create (physical) Production trim cards for each style/fabrication/colour.
- Leasing with accounts for checking and follow up of all invoicing and payments related to production.
- Have a thorough understanding of luxury garment construction techniques and technical finishes.
- Knowledge and ability to confidently fit garments and carry out quality inspections proactively make recommendations to achieve the desired form and fit and spot faults.
- Check Pre-Production Sample – measure, fit and final approval before production commences.
- Continually review and suggest ways to improve department costs and efficiency.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including designers, pattern makers, sample makers, and merchandisers to streamline the product development process.
- Maintain open communication with design, production, and management teams, providing updates on project status and addressing challenges.
- Supporting sales team with product information.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- At least 5 years experience within the industry as a Garment Technologist/Production Manager within a mid-to-high end business.
- Demonstrates full understanding of the required production standards.
- Pattern Making Skills.
• Strong understanding of garment construction techniques, fabrics, and manufacturing processes.
- Works well in a demanding and fast-moving environment.
- A team player and self-motivated.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Methodical, analytical, and driven to make solutions
- The ability to manage a constantly changing workload and be flexible.
- Good attention to detail with excellent knowledge of trims and hardware.
- Confident with creative suites such as: adobe illustrator and photoshop.
- Courageous and confident to lead and challenge decisions.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for design aesthetics.
- Expertise in developing multi product womenswear.
- Experience working with Zedonk.
